MetaNeer Labs, Inc. Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MetaNeer Labs, Inc. ("MetaNeer," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information.

This Policy applies to MetaNeer websites, applications, forms, communications, and services that link to it, including the Launch Pad $25K Build Challenge and related application, referral, scoring, leaderboard, verification, and communication activities.

This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, platforms, or services that have their own privacy policies.

1. Personal Information We Collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Contact and identification information, such as your name, contact details, location, account information, and information used to confirm identity, eligibility, authority, or prize acceptance.
  • Application, project, and submission information that you provide in connection with a Challenge, inquiry, proposed project, service request, revision, verification activity, or related communication.
  • Commercial and qualification information relating to your interest in MetaNeer's services, project readiness and timing, and related sales, scheduling, contracting, payment, or service activity.
  • Referral and participation information used to attribute referrals, administer Challenge activity, calculate points, verify eligibility, prevent fraud, and maintain records.
  • Administrative and evaluation information created or maintained in connection with applications, qualification, scoring, ranking, status, verification, selection, corrections, or compliance.
  • Communications and preference information, including messages, meeting and scheduling information, feedback, and marketing preferences.
  • Device, usage, and technical information, such as IP address, browser and device information, referring pages, activity on our websites and applications, authentication information, diagnostic data, and information collected through cookies or similar technologies.
  • Other information that you choose to provide or that we reasonably need to provide services, administer a program, comply with law, or protect our rights.

    • Challenge entries are not confidential. Do not submit trade secrets, regulated data, sensitive personal information, third-party confidential information, or other material that you are not authorized and willing to provide and permit MetaNeer to use under the applicable Official Rules.

    2. How We Collect Personal Information

    We may collect personal information:

  • Directly from you when you submit a form, create an account, apply to a Challenge, communicate with us, attend a meeting, request services, enter into an agreement, or make a payment.
  • Automatically when you use our websites, applications, emails, or other digital services.
  • From referrals, service providers, business partners, public sources, and third-party platforms when permitted by law.
  • From information generated through our administration, review, evaluation, security, fraud-prevention, and recordkeeping activities.

    • 3. How We Use Personal Information

    We may use personal information to:

  • Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our websites, applications, services, and programs.
  • Receive, review, evaluate, score, verify, and administer Challenge applications and participation.
  • Attribute and administer referrals, points, rankings, and related activity.
  • Communicate with you about applications, deadlines, status, meetings, services, transactions, and other operational matters.
  • Determine eligibility, Build Fit, readiness, finalist status, winner status, or suitability for a proposed project or service.
  • Provide services, prepare proposals, schedule work, enter into contracts, process payments, and manage client or prospective-client relationships.
  • Document and promote the Challenge, MetaNeer's work, and related outcomes as permitted by the Official Rules, agreements, and applicable law.
  • Personalize and improve communications, content, and user experience.
  • Send optional marketing communications when permitted by law. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, and violations of our terms or rules.
  • Enforce agreements, protect our rights and the rights of others, comply with legal obligations, and respond to lawful requests.
  • Create aggregated or deidentified information that does not reasonably identify an individual.

    • Your willingness or ability to purchase MetaNeer's services does not affect your Challenge score, Grand Prize eligibility, or likelihood of winning.

    4. Public Challenge Information

    The Challenge may include public-facing information and activities.

    MetaNeer may publish or display an applicant's first name and last initial, project name, score, points, ranking, status, or other information described in the Official Rules.

    Finalists, winners, and other participants may also be identified or featured as permitted by the Official Rules, applicable releases, project agreements, and law.

    Information that you make public may be viewed, copied, or shared by others. MetaNeer cannot control how third parties use information after it has been made public.

    5. How We Disclose Personal Information

    We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers that help us operate websites, applications, communications, analytics, hosting, authentication, payments, scheduling, document management, security, and other business functions.
  • Professional advisers, including attorneys, accountants, insurers, and consultants.
  • Contractors, reviewers, judges, collaborators, or other people involved in administering a Challenge, evaluating a project, or providing requested services.
  • Government authorities, courts, law enforcement, or other parties when disclosure is required or permitted by law.
  • Parties involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.
  • Other parties when you direct us to disclose information or provide consent.
  • The public, when information is published or used as described in the Official Rules, an agreement, or this Policy.

    • We do not sell personal information for money or disclose it to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes.

    We may use analytics, advertising, and similar technologies. Depending on applicable law, some disclosures involving those technologies may be treated as a sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Where required, you may exercise an opt-out right using available website controls or by contacting us.

    6. Cookies and Similar Technologies

    We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixels, and similar technologies to:

  • Operate and secure our websites and applications.
  • Maintain sessions, preferences, application progress, and referral attribution.
  • Understand usage and performance.
  • Diagnose errors and prevent fraud.
  • Measure communications and campaigns.
  • Support analytics and advertising where used.

    • You may be able to control cookies through your browser, device settings, or available website controls. Disabling certain technologies may affect site functionality.

    7. Operational Communications and Marketing

    Operational communications are messages reasonably related to an application, Challenge, account, transaction, meeting, agreement, requested service, or existing relationship. These communications may be necessary to administer your participation or provide a requested service.

    Optional marketing communications are separate. You may opt out by using the unsubscribe link in an email or contacting us. Opting out of marketing does not stop operational communications.

    8. Data Retention

    We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to administer programs, provide services, maintain records, complete transactions, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, meet legal obligations, and exercise rights granted under the Official Rules or other agreements.

    Retention periods vary based on the type of information, how it is used, and applicable legal, operational, security, accounting, and contractual requirements.

    When personal information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.

    9. Data Security

    We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information.

    No method of transmission, storage, or security is completely reliable. We cannot guarantee that personal information will always remain secure.

    10. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

    Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have the right to request that we:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information.
  • Provide access to or a copy of personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Delete personal information.
  • Provide information in a portable format.
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Allow you to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, profiling, or marketing.
  • Limit certain uses of sensitive personal information.
  • Review an appeal of a denied privacy request.

    • We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. Some information may be exempt from a request or may need to be retained for legal, security, contractual, fraud-prevention, recordkeeping, or other permitted purposes.

    We will not unlawfully discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

    11. California Privacy Disclosures

    This section applies only to the extent required by California law.

    The categories of personal information we may collect are described in Section 1. The sources of that information are described in Section 2. The business and commercial purposes for collection, use, and disclosure are described in Sections 3 through 7. The categories of recipients are described in Section 5.

    MetaNeer does not sell personal information for money.

    California residents may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain sales or sharing, subject to applicable exceptions and verification requirements.

    An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law. We may require proof that the agent is authorized to act for the consumer and may require the consumer to verify their identity directly with us.

    12. Children's Privacy

    MetaNeer's websites and services are not directed to children under 13, and the Challenge is limited to eligible adults.

    We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without legally sufficient authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

    13. International Users

    MetaNeer is based in the United States. If you access our websites or services from another country, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate.

    Those countries may have data-protection laws that differ from the laws where you live.

    14. Third-Party Services

    Our websites, applications, and communications may link to or integrate with third-party websites, community platforms, social networks, payment services, or other services.

    MetaNeer does not control the privacy practices of those third parties. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

    15. Changes to This Policy

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.

    When we make changes, we will post the updated Policy and revise the effective date. We may provide additional notice when required by law or when changes are material.
